I have severe bilateral lower leg muscle spasms due to synovial cysts at L5S1 causing neuroforaminal stenosis. Is surgery an option?

Maybe

Cyst
If your cysts are responsible for "nerve pain", and are associated with nerve root distribution numbness, weakness, and/or muscle atrophy, there may be a good rationale for a surgical approach. These days, arthroscopic and less invasive techniques are present. Suggest you visit a neurosurgeon and discuss.

I have severe nocturnal muscle spasms (legs/feet/thighs) when tapering off prednisone. What could be causing this and how can I treat/prevent it?

Stretching

Prednisone
Don't know why tapering off prednisone would trigger nocturnal leg cramps. Gentle yoga type stretching held for a full 2-3 minutes has helped others with Chrons Disease who take a lot of prednisone and have nocturnal leg cramps. Safer than meds when done properly.

My friend is having severe leg and back Ƨramps and spasms what shoud we do?

See a dr. asap

Without a thorough history and exam, no telling why the cramps are occurring or reoccurring. I would not hesitate to see a dr. or get to an emergency department asap, at least to allay any doubts and get some sort of answer to what is going on.

Dr. Kenneth Tepper answered:

I have severe back pain and spasms with pee down my leg and overflow incontinence?

SURGICAL EMERGENCY

Incontinence
You may have a very serious condition called cauda equina which is compression of the lower part of the spinal cord. If this is the case, surgical treatment is required emergently for the best recovery. Go to a hospital IMMEDIATELY that has orthopaedic or neurosurgical spine care.

Dr. Ki-Hon Lin answered:

Have severe back spasms with left leg numbness and tingling and pain, what causes this, also left leg sometimes gives out.

Pinched nerve

Leg_numbness_
Your symptoms, in particular the left leg numbness/tingling/pain/weakness, strongly suggest a pinched nerve in your lumbar spine. If your symptoms are progressively worsening, you may even need surgery. See a physician for further evaluation and treatment options.

Dx'd with fibro, but in severe pain! Spasms in neck, legs, knees. What if it's not just fibro? All bloodwork normal, low lymphocytes:

Could be, not likely

Extremity-lower-one_side
Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis of exclusion. This means other conditions must be ruled out before assuming symptoms are due to fibromyalgia. However, since fibromyalgia is very common, and the symptoms you are describing are typical for fibromyalgia, it's unlikely it's something else. I would recommend you see a fibromyalgia specialist like me to make sure all other conditions have been ruled out.

about arthritis. there is any way or any medication to help relief the pain. cause i have arthritis with severe spasms of my right leg.?

Depends

Leg
you should see your doctor for evaluation in person. arthritis is talking about bones and joints, spasm is talking about muscles, so there may be something else going on and you need to be seen in order to sort this out.

Recurrent and frequent muscle spasms could be due to deficiencies in serum magnesium and calcium. Have these checked. Also stretching your lower leg muscles before going to bed may help.
