Serum Glucose Vs A1c
The blood sugar concentration or blood glucose level is the amount of glucose (sugar) present in the blood of a human or animal. The body naturally tightly regulates blood glucose levels as a part of metabolic homeostasis. Glucose is the primary source of energy for the body's cells, and blood lipids (in the form of fats and oils) are primarily ...Read more

Gallstones: Your diabetes does not seem to be an issue here. The advise of what to do depends on whether you are having symptoms related to gallstones. If you have no symptoms then there is nothing that needs to be done currently. If you have symptoms then gallbladder removal maybe an option. Best to discuss with your primary doctor or see a general surgeon. ...Read more

My fasting triglyceride is 78 and fasting glucose is 89, but A1c is 5.7. Normal BMI. Any significance to A1C?
My blood test results:
total bilirubin: 1.41 h
ast: 40 h
alt: 100 h
total alk phosphatase: 43 l
serum total protein: 7.1
e.R. Said hepatitis?
Let's try this...: I have only a little bit of the story you've shared. Perhaps it's time to see whether the ast and alt get back to normal after two weeks off alcohol and any not-totally-necessary meds you may be taking. If so, this is the start of a healthier life after alcohol. If not, the workup for virus infections, iron overload, wilson's, autoimmunity & need for exercise can begin. Good luck. ...Read more

Diabetes test.: Hga1c is one of the main tests to indicate whether a person's diabetes is under good control or not. Hemoglobin is contained in red blood cells, which stay in the bloodstream for 3-4 months. Glucose can be chemically attached to hemoglobin based upon the concentration of glucose in the blood. So, hga1c measures how much glucose has been in the blood for the last three months. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Cause of elevations in proinsulin, c-peptides and proinsulin:c-peptide ratio, c reactive protein & ferritin. Normal A1c & glucose. Previously overwei?
Can't answer: Nobody here can answer without your clinical history, though i wouldn't be surprised if you have hemochromatosis -- truth is, i hope you do, because it's the easiest of all the deadly diseases to manage. It's also worth remembering that serum ferritin is an acute phase reactant and likely to be high during some other illness. You're a person, not a set of labs. Insist on a full explanation. ...Read more
My bl sugar level drops to 50 3 h after eating, normal insulin, c-peptide, liver enzymes' levels, family history of diabetes,is it reactive hypoglycemia?
Reactive hypoglycemi: yes. It is. Whenever you eat ready sugars or simple sugars( made with table sugar, juices) your body releases lots of insulin . Your sugars get absorbed mostly from stmach and there is still insulin in the blood that continue to lower your sugar.you should avoid ready sugars and take more complex carbs. Along with proteins. You most likely will be developing diabetes in near future. So watch !! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Fasting glucose 85. then GTT hour 1glucose 84, hour 2 glucose 94. what would cause this odd response?
Normal variability: So for that test, you basically get a dose of glucose to see if your blood sugar remains elevated. Our bodies respond very quickly to glucose, meaning that it gets taken up by our muscles and liver almost immediately after it enters the blood stream. Our body's "thermostat" is set to keep the blood sugar level between 70-99. Over 100 indicates a problem with glucose metabolism. Yours is normal. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Do these test result indicate a kidney problem? fasting blood glucose : 103, urea: 27, creatinine: 1.5, total cholestrol: 248 triglycerid 308 mg/dL
It depends: The creatinine's a little bit high for a lady. When I was working out a lot, mine ran 1.7; unless you're also doing a lot of strength training, your creatinine's high and that's concerning for kidney disease. I'd address the cholesterol and maybe triglycerides as well. If you've had to have laser resurfacing for your acne, you probably need stronger Rx if you're still getting lesions. Best wishes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Frequently urine causes .?. I m taking "amcard AT" 0.25mg and blood glucose fasting 85 , blood glucose PP 102.(glucose test took on march 2014)
Results from 2hr oggt:
blood draws: 1/2 hr=230; 1hr=292; 2hr=250
blood tests are negative for diabetes.
Is this glucose intolerance or insulin ?
Diabetes: This is consistent with diabetes. The 2 hour after challenge should be < 140. If 140-199, that's prediabetes. I'm not sure what you mean by "blood tests negative for diabetes." go back to your doctor and ask for a test called a1c. This will confirm and tell you the severity of the diabetes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
