Abortion?: I presume you are asking what your options are in case of undesired early pregnancy. If you are less than 7 weeks along, medical abortion is possible with safety and convenience, although hemorrhage is still possible especially if you have fibroids, or your dates are further along than you think. If you are over 7 weeks, dilatation and curettage is warranted. Talk to your gynecologist!

Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

See below: If you did the blood test more than one day after a missed period and HCG was <3, you are not pregnant. How was the blood test positive if HCG was < 3.0?

What is the best time to take a Quantitative Serum Beta HCG test?

What is the best time to take a Quantitative Serum Beta HCG test?

3 wks after sex: There is no need to rush. A pregnancy test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 wks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. If a woman gets her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant, and a test isn't needed.

Pregnancy: Most likely not, I recommend to repeat b-hcg and follow up with your provider to make sure no ectopic (tubal) pregnancy.

Beta hCG test done today is 0.1... 4 days past ovulation... is it early for pregnancy test?

Beta hCG test done today is 0.1... 4 days past ovulation... is it early for pregnancy test?

Way early: Even the most sensitive pregnancy test is not reliable until about 11 days post-fertilization; it doesn't do any good testing earlier. Generally any level below 4-5 should be considered negative. Good wishes.

I have tested thrice for pregnancy test it has come negative also went for blood beta hcg test which is less than 2 any chance of ectopic pregnancy?

No: If you are PG you are PG somewhere, hopeful intrauterine. The embryo and the placenta create the chemicals that are tested for so if the hug is + you are PG. If not, you most probable are not. If you have an ectopic signs of pregnancy will begin and the abnormal implantation will soon be observed. Keep trying if you wish. Good luck.

She needs to see GYN: If you both are talking about abortion it's not something you should do on your own. Get to see a ob-gyn soon and discuss options available. Beta HCG more accurate than test strip.

Pregnancy: Three possibilities. You are pregnant and have IUP (intrauterine pregnancy) that is not being picked up, 2. You are going to have a miscarriage, 3 you have a ectopic pregnancy. You need to be rechecked and you need a repeat quantitative preg test.

Did you have sex?: If you had sex since your last period and did the test correctly, you are likely to be pregnant. Wish you good health!

No: Based on the information you provided, you are not pregnant. It would be prudent to repeat the home pregnancy test in a week, unless you get a period by then. Conception, as defined by the generation of a fertilized ovum, occurs within day or so of the sex. However, it takes about 2-3 weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG to produce a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.

See OB ASAP: See OB. You maybe miscarried or you may have a non viable pregnancy or simply first trimester bleeding. The way to find out is to have an OB perform a transvaginal ultrasound. If there are fetal heart tones, then close follow up is needed. Do not go on any long trips or travel by air or out of a metro area where health care is accessible in case you do miscarry and bleed heavily.

It is possible that: You were pregnant and now you are not. A quanitative HCG test should be able to give you an exact answer. You might need to have it done more than once. Remember every method of birth control has a failure rate of some type, but the Mirena (levonorgestrel) is has a very very low failure rate, but it is not zero

BHCG: That indicates early pregnancy. Your doctor will likely monitor the trend to confirm it is going up.

Can drinking a lot of water before dried blood spot test decrease papp-a and beta hCG test results? They were both low.

Can drinking a lot of water before dried blood spot test decrease papp-a and beta hCG test results? They were both low.

Not the cause: Drinking water should not alter a blood test. You would have to drink a lot of water to dilute a test. Always discuss a test result with your doctor, he/she can explain the results and their expectation. You can bring a family member also to help write down what is said for later review. Hope this helps.
