Ovarian cyst dermoid or serous cystadenoma can be tested with small part for complete pathologic analysis?

Ovarian cyst dermoid or serous cystadenoma can be tested with small part for complete pathologic analysis?

Unfortunately Not: The problem with ovarian tumors is that you can have normal cell types adjacent to borderline or malignant cells. The ovary is notorious for hiding cancer cells which is why it's impossible to "eyeball" or sample an ovary and get a complete diagnosis. That's why often the ovary is completely removed if malignancy is suspected. Cancer can also increase in stage if spillage occurs so it's not easy. ...Read more

I have endometriosis.24 years and unmarried. I have no pain and have 2*2 CM cyst (serous cystadenoma).Doctors says get married or have a surgery?

Surgery: It is probably best to have the cyst removed. As for getting married, I am assuming you also mean have children. If you have never tried to get pregnant and were unable or never had a surgery (diagnostic laparoscopy) to check the severity of the endometriosis, then it is impossible to determine the severity of the disease or comment of your fertility. ...Read more

Is serous cystadenoma is a tumour or a cyst? Do they all look exactly the same inside and outside?

Ovarian Tumors: A serous cystadenoma is a benign ovarian tumor which is a sac filled with fluid, hence it is a cyst, although a tumerous cyst. They vary considerably in size, but histologically they are all similar. Depending on their growth progression, they should probably be removed surgically, but it sounds like your's may have already been excised. If the pathologist found only benign cells, then is cured. ...Read more

I have a 93mm unilocular midline ovarian cyst, possibly cystadenoma. Pain in lower buttock down leg, very restricted urination.

I have a 93mm unilocular midline ovarian cyst, possibly cystadenoma. Pain in lower buttock down leg, very restricted urination.

Need removal: Typically a CA-125 level would be checked to help determine the likelihood of malignancy. Sounds low based on the US findings. Regardless, the mass should be removed to relieve your symptoms and so that a pathologist can evaluate the ovary. Most times both tubes and ovaries would be removed and sometimes the uterus. Discuss with surgeon to make the best decision. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Benign serous cystadenoma if the ovary is left intact women over 35 year of age will increased risk of overian cancer?

Excision: Danna, there is no way to know if it's a benign, serous cystadenoma until it is surgically removed and examined by a pathologist. Benign serous cystadenoma is a pathological diagnosis that cannot be made while the ovary is left inside. If the tumor is removed in an intact ovary, and this is the diagnosis, there is no cancer. ...Read more

Ovarian cyst: Correct me if I am wrong. I think you are referring to ova-1 test. The test is designed to evaluate the possibility of benign vs malignant cyst. It is not 100% right.
