Costochondral: inflammation. The cartilage that connects the sternum (breastbone) to your ribs is called the costochondral cartilage. When you stretch you pull on it, sometimes too much, the joints move, you hear a noise. The overuse can sometimes result in pain/tenderness to touch. I would not stretch so forcefully/expansively! Some medication/chemicals can cause photodermatitis--means you breakout with sun exposure.
