It can be.: That sensation may be a manifestation of food actually having a tough time going through an irritated esophagus, or it may be what is called globus sensation. Globus sensation is the feeling of something in the throat when nothing is there. It may be related to reflux also. Frequently that sensation goes away with good control of acid reflux. Throat lump: It can be associated with acid reflux and i see that you have heartburn and you smoke, which does not help it. The lump may also be from post nasal drip if you have nasal allergies.
