Seizures On Falling Asleep Or Waking Up
What will taking lsd do to my brain/body if I have epilepsy and take the drug keppra? I only get seizures when falling asleep or waking up, and have never had a grand mal seizure, only petite mal. I take 2 keppra at night and 1 in the morning.
STAY AWAY FROM LSD: Any hallucinogen has the potential to increase the number and severity of seizures, whether grand mal or petit mal. The worst ones are mdma and pcp, but lsd can cause problems as well. Furthermore, you do not know what you are taking when you get something called "lsd." it can literally be anything, and you are putting your life, your health and your trust into people who are dealing drugs. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What could cause me to jump awake when I am just falling asleep? Could this be some kind of seizure
Little sister throws up almost every night right after falling asleep. She doesn't eat much during the day too. Could this be seizures or anything?
Is it true mag oxide 400mg can help brain zaps or seizure? Haven't taken any meds in a while keep getting brain zaps before falling asleep?
I doubt it but...: I'm not sure what "brain zaps" are (even after googling them) but magnesium could help. However, it's very unlikely mag oxide would help as it's only 4% absorbed. If you want to try magnesium i advise mag taurate or glycinate. See http://drcarolyndean.Com/magnesium_miracle/ magnesium has not yet been proven to help seizures though many find it helpful: http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/pubmed/22406257. ...Read more
My son twitches a lot at night it.Scares me he has had febril seizure in the past but he has always twitched a lot when asleep?
I'm having episodes, occasionally, while asleep that feel like I'm shaking/vibrating all over. It almost feels like a small seizure. What could this be?
Shaky feeling @night: Very hard to give accurate advice based on your brief description. However, seizures can happen any time of day, not just at night, so if they don't happen in the daytime too, it's probably not seizures. Best to go see your doctor and see if they can sort this out with more details and a good exam. You may need some special testing. Avoid alcohol. Get enough sleep (8 hrs ideally). Stay hydrated. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I take Depakote for seizure normally I take 500mg tid but I am working nights and I am concerned because I am missing my noon dose due to being asleep?
May not be an issue: Depakote can often be take twice daily, due to fact the levels are usually stable. First, check your drug level to make sure you are protected, and, if you are unable to keep up with dose frequency, your best approach is the once daily er form, which covers a full 24 hrs. Your insurance company may balk, but have your physician appeal this, if necessary. ...Read more
Can someone have 2 seizures in the early am while asleep at age 16 then never have any again. Was 16 then im 30 now, just eyes were rolling couldt wake?
VNS: Units are set for on and off periods, and are not 100 % perfect, even when optimally programmed. A magnet is included, and if swiped across the vns device, will cause it to fire, and perhaps stop the seizure. If you sleep with a partner, the other can stop the seizure activity, but, if you sleep alone, the seizure will likely complete, but maybe the unit will decrease frequency well over time. ...Read more
