Seeing Sparkles In My Vision
Why did I see white sparkly spots in my vision today and is this bad it had me panicking all day im scared that im dieing from it?
Floaters: You should see an ophthalmologist immediately to make sure that you don't have a serious problem.
Migraine: You are probably experiencing occipital migraine. You can confirm this by seeing if the same things occurs in each eye when you cover one and then the other. These usually are short lasting (5 min to 2 hours) and cause no permanent changes. If this test does not work as I have indicated, then see your ophthalmologist for a better diagnosis.
No cure, C ur eye dr: Depending on how extensive you're seeing these little flashes of light, you do want to see your eye doctor, and have this evaluated through a dilated funduscopic exam. S/he will be able to advise you further on this. They will be able to explain what's happening, diagnose properly, and then you will have peace of mind.
Flashing lights: Needs attention soon, this can be a precursor to a retina detachment. See you ophthalmologist soon!
Can be normal: Light flashes or sparks can be nonspecific and not dangerous. They can indicate vitreous traction or may actually be coming from irritation in the brain in the visual tracts. If the sparks occur in the temperol periphery it may be secondary to changes in the eye. Though these are usually normal findings it may be helpful to have a doctor check you if they continue.
Only able to y: Determine the cause by examining you eyes. Pay attention if it moves with eye movement or if there is any flashing lights associated with this. See an ophthalmologist for this.
Flashes in vision: See an eye doc soon! Could be simply a liquification of the jelly in the eye, which is normal, or something more serious like a retinal tear or hole.
No: Curved, wavy lines moving in your vision are likely to be floaters, and if not a new symptom, are likely to be completely benign. New onset floaters, however, warrant an evaluation with an eye md, to rule out a retinal tear. On the other hand, if objects known to be straight are now curved (like door frames), a macular condition could be the cause. This also warrants an evaluation with an eye md.See 1 more doctor answer
Depends how much: Most people will have a little bit of this occasionally. Some people are even more perceptively sensitive. It is as if the peripheral vision is hyperactive. We all have these vigilance brain functions on automatically. Insomnia, isolation, substance abuse and brain illnesses each can increase this brain "hyper"- activity. If it continues or bothers you, see a doctor to evaluate it.
Migraine: Visual migraines cause this.Get a more detailed answer ›

What would cause seeing prisms in eyesight with no headache? It's blocking part of my vision. Is it worrisome?
Please see a doctor.: Your symptoms can be from what we call floaters in the fluid behind the lens or it can also be from a detached retina, which is a serious condition needing immediate attention.
