I've a sebaceous cyst on my face the size of small marble. How can I get rid of it?

Minor surgery: A cyst like this may discharge its contents and get smaller, but will recur. Surgery is quick and easy but may not be indicated. It would be reasonable to have someone - maybe a dermatologist - look at it and see what can be done. ...Read more

What can I do to relieve and/ or lessen the redness of my sebaceous cysts on my face and neck while i await my appointment with my dermatologist next week?

Don't touch: First, just like your mom said, "don't touch that." she was right about this one. Things that can decrease inflammation include elevation, (sleeping with head up), anti-inflammatory creams, etc;. Before you do anything, check with your doctor. For example, he/she may want you off of any Aspirin or ibufrofen products if they are going to take it out. ...Read more

Can sebaceous cyst hyperplasia go away on its own on the face?

Can sebaceous cyst hyperplasia go away on its own on the face?

No: So a sebaceous cyst can shrink or get infected and grow - but it is never really completely gone unless it is resected (removed) surgically. This is because the entire cyst shell and wall must be removed. The best person to do this is a surgeon or someone with lots of experience. See your local doctor or general or plastic surgeon for help. ...Read more

Treat the cyst: It sounds to me that your cpap system is irritating the cyst. In that case before the cyst becomes infected I rec that you see your physician and have the cyst properly drained and the sac removed reducing the chance of it recurring. Until then maybe a emmoliant such as aquaphor or cetaphil to reduce the friction ...Read more
