Sebaceous Cyst Ear
My sebaceous cyst (ear lobe) has become inflamed in the middle of a course of antibiotics. Is this normal and will the antibiotics get rid of the cyst?
Sebaceous cyst: Most sebaceous are without issue but if you start to have a flare up i would recommend going to see a physicians as it may need drainage due to trapped infection. A sebaceous cyst is usually just trapped oil that usually would lubricate a hair follicle. They can be really painful and drainage may help the pain resolve faster. Call the surgeon: There is always some pain/dicomfort after a sugical procedure and the doc who did your surgery should be best person to manage your pain--he/she knows what was done. It is expected that you will have some pain, but if it is excessive or worsening, consult doc for eval as there is chance of infection etc...Tylenol/motrin may help ease the discomfort untill seen by doc.
