Is ocular TB contagious?
please suggest some good id specialists in new jersey area with experience in treating this condition
Probably Not.: I don't think so but other forms of TB are contagious so I would use careful contact precautions and hand washing until it is properly treated. UMDNJ in Newark (now part of Rutgers) is a registered TB center so I would probably contact their ID department because they probably have experience with this rare condition. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What are some symptoms/complaints that would be an "automatic admission" to the hospital for a Female in her mid 30's. This is for research?
Suicidal ideation: Is one example. Or attempted suicide. This is a pretty long (or short) list depending upon which hospital and what setting. Example, is there a bioterror or infectious disease concern? Active tuberculosis? History of unintentional drug overdose? Active labor? Preeclampsia? Stroke or pulmonary embolism? Frankly, this is an odd question and it makes me wonder about malingering (google that). ...Read more
In your medical opinion, complaints a 35 yo female would present to the ED with that would cause automatic admission for observation. This is research?

They are there because their condition is unstable and more time is needed to determine if they need to be formally admitted for hospital care. The decision for inpatient hospital admission is a complex medical decision based on the doctor’s judgment and the need for medically necessary hospital care. ...Read more

Is there a doctor or facility in us that is fully dedicated to treatment and management of osteomyelitis? Not interested in general ortho surgeons.
Psychiatrist: This is a great question, because some see physicians as dealing only with disease rather than focusing on health. Psychiatrists specialize in understanding & treating people with disorders that present with emotional, mental, and behavioral symptoms. The work is stressful & sometimes we need reminders about emotional health -- and that we're charged with helping people preserve theirs. Thanks! ...Read more
