Teen had EGD and colonoscopy 5 hrs ago. Having pain with deep breathe. She was told it was normal at hospital. How long will it last?
6hrs post-EGD. Have had diarrhea nausea no appetite since procedure. Should I worry or normal? None of this happened after colonoscopy.
EGD: An upper endoscopy procedure itself like yours usually doesn't cause diarrhea and thus it could be coincidental. Since your stomach was instrumented I can see it causing gastric irritation. For now, avoid caffeine, spicey or fried foods, avoid harsh roughage, drink flat ginger ale and take kaopectate(may cause dark stools) as needed for diarrhea control.
