Scotch Whiskey Effects On High Blood Pressure
Why take low dosage of blood pressure medication 12.5 mg of hydrochloride if my blood pressure jumped around but was never high.
It depends: It may actually be for your kidneys, but not highly likely. More likely, it is to lower the "peaks" of your blood pressure, so they do not get as high. If you see #s >140 / >90, then your doc is likely doing this. If not, then you should ask your doc the rationale for the med since nothing is risk-free. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
A blood pressure reading has two numbers: a systolic blood pressure and a diastolic blood pressure. The systolic blood pressure is the maximum pressure the blood exerts on the vessels when the heart is beating. The diastolic blood pressure is the pressure the blood exerts on the vessels in between heartbeats. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, begins when the systolic blood pressure remains above 140 or when the diastolic blood pressure remains above 90. Hypertension can be a result of increased blood flow through vessels or increased resistance to ...Read more

It should not: There are reports of Depakote causing high blood pressure in under 5% of people who take it. There are some smaller reports in about 2% of it causing low blood pressure. In general, there has been no significant reporting of bringing on high blood pressure when stopping it. The biggest concern is having seizures in those who were taking it for that reason. ...Read more
Which hard drink don't have harmful effect to peoples with uric axid (nizatidine) & high blood pressure?
None: It is not the type of drink that is harmful to uric acid and blood pressure, but the alcohol in the drink. High uric acid and hi BP are treatable with lifestyle changes (low sodium/salt diet, weight loss, exercise, limit alcohol) but sometimes require medicine. Even on medicine, you should continue with the healthy lifestyle. Google dash diet (diet is a 4 letter word, should make it your life). ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

I was on Diovan (valsartan) hctz for high blood pressure. I was taken off of the hctz component and told because of high microalbumin level. Now BP is high. Help!
Proteinuria : I would ask your doctor about adding Cardizem to aid Diovan (valsartan) (d) in lowering your proteinuria (p) and BP and stop hctz. As you can see from the image, coronary heart disease (chd) and stroke (cva) are related to the severity of the p. It is similar in the case of renal disease. Using d or calcium channel blockers like Diltiazem can reduce bp, p and their serious cardiovascular consequences. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I'm on bystolic (nebivolol) 10 mg. To treat my high blood pressure & high pulse rate. I've noticed my pulse is staying in the low 50s. And b/p 100/55. Is this ok?
I am on water pill and atenolol for high blood pressure. In the mornings my blood pressure is around 85/60 with heart rate 57. Is this too low?
Yes.: That blood pressure is too low. It does not seem like you have any reason to keep the BP that low. Even if you are not experiencing any symptoms due to that low BP, it does not leave much "buffer" room. I think your medications need to be adjusted to allow for higher blood pressure. Please see your doctor as soon as possible. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

How high does marijuana use raise blood pressure? Is it high enough to damage heart, kidneys ,etc
Part 2: oops - hit the return key too soon. If you read my first post, here's the rest: I found reference to increased heart rate, but NOT increased BP. I suggest you purchase an inexpensive cuff and measure your own actual BP before and after exposure. Remember that it's safe for BP to rise with exertion and stress. On a stress test, it's healthy to see BP go from 120/80 to 200/90 during exercise. OK? ...Read more
