I have the transderm scop (scopolamine) patches and dramamine. Which one will work better with less side effects?

I prefer scop patch: I find that transderm scop (scopolamine) is both well tolerated and effective. Perhaps even better is half a scop patch, but if you do this, carefully wash your hands after cutting / applying to keep the scopolamine off your fingers & out of your eyes. Another prescription favorite is zofran (ondansetron) which is quite effective for nausea. ...Read more

Always Side Effects: Both together may increase side effects such as drowsiness,blurred vision,dry mouth,heat intolerance, flushing, decreased sweating, difficulty urinating, abdominal cramping, constipation,rapid heart beats, confusion,& memory problems.These more likely to occur in your age group. Obviously this may affect your quality of life so discuss this all with your doctor. There are other meds for nausea. ...Read more

Scopolamine SEs: this medication can certainly cause a dilated pupil on the side of use. Generally the patch is worn for 3 days - so I wonder how long you've had it on? Also if u touch the gluey surface of the patch, then rub your eye you can dilate the pupil that way by getting the medicine directly in your eye. If no patch is being used now & pupil still dilated, u should see an eye doc today. Hope u feel better ...Read more
