Do kids in foster care finish school?

Do kids in foster care finish school?

SUre they can!: Kids in foster care can do anything they want to do. It may take a bit more planning and they need to be moe aware of all the help available to them through their school district and the community. I've cared for foster kids who have gone on to be doctors, lawyers, teachers. It may be a little bit more challenging, but ask the help of school guidance counselor to help you through! ...Read more

Do girls learn at social school about female circumcision?

Do girls learn at social school about female circumcision?

Not only did I not: Learn about female genital mutilation in school but it was never mentioned in medical school, internship or residency. I received hundreds of hours in training in child sexual abuse - and it was never brought up there either. Kind of amazing considering that 140 million females (as young as a day old) have had their genitals mutilated. ...Read more

Age 23,anxiety at college, parents still care like a 2 years old kid,My family members respect me even elders, was at bad school, not ok in social, cause?

Counseling: Report to the campus counseling center. Depression in college is very common because of all the changes that ollege students have to go through adjusting from the impact of moving from their small towns or big cities or wherever else to college life, and stepping toward autonomy. It often represents too much change into short period of time. Counseling likely will be of benefit. ...Read more

At what age should my young adult children do their wills?

Depends: Wills provide a legal way to pass on personal assets according to the wishes and hopes of the maker of the will. A will is unnecessary until there are a moderate amount of assets to be passed on. This is especially important if there are children or a spouse. In this age group, the major cause of death is accidental as illness in this age group almost always allows time to make a will. ...Read more

Should kids attend funeral of a grandparent?

Should kids attend funeral of a grandparent?

Yes: Well, it depends on the age of the child and whether they were close to the grandparent. If they didn't really know them, or are very young (too young to really understand) then no. However, children are oddly very accepting of life rituals, and they help the child come to grips with major life changes and move on. Be ready for a lot of questions though, and be honest. ...Read more

At what age should children start physical education classes?

At what age should children start physical education classes?

Whenever they can!: PE time has been eroded from many public schools and it's a real shame! Being physically active and engaging in creative play is beneficial to a child. I believe all children should have structured quality recess/PE appropriate for their age. It actually helps them be better students! http://www.webmd.com/parenting/raising-fit-kids/move/parents-pe-questions?page=1 ...Read more

Should grandparents take over parenting for children whose biological parents cannot care for them? @drpam

It depends: There are so many factors that may affect the decision. It depends on the health of the grandparents. If it happens, looking to get support from others in the family is very important. The age of the children may also be a factor. This is a long-term commitment. Many times the grandparents can be stressed. Making sure there is adequate financial support is also important. ...Read more

Do live-in mental institutions help children who are mental retarded more than living at home and going to public school?

Nearly all gone: Separate institutions for mentally retarded (or seriously mentally ill) individuals have nearly vanished in the U.S. Those with mr have quite different needs, depending on the severity of delay. People with mild delays live at home as children and may live indpendently as adults. Adults with severe mr typically live in group homes. Life quality depends on quality of services, not location. ...Read more
