What does "opacity in the left lower zone with obliteration of the left costophrenic angle-pleural effusion" mean?
My brother got his eyesight cecked today. He is having -3 for left eye and -5 for right eye. Is he nearer to any danger zone? Please suggest
New glasses: I'm not sure what you mean by danger zone. Many people need a prescription in that range (near-sighted/myopia) and are just fine with their glasses. Some people's prescription is a little asymetric like your brother's appears to be. As long as the rest of his eye exam was normal, and he was prescribed correctly, I wouldn't be worried about this prescription. ...Read more

My friend's UTZ has a hypoechoic mass nodule in her left beast. Left breast is at 2 o clock position zone b - 1.3 x 0.6 x 0.8 cm. Is it malignant?
There is: Not enough information to make an assessment. The probability of malignancy depends on various ultrasound features that should be described in the report. Also, there should be a BIRADS code at the end of the report which summarizes the radiologist's assessment of the chance of malignancy. Merely knowing that a hypoechoic nodule is present doesn't narrow it down. It could be benign or suspicious ...Read more
Chest x-ray showed fibronodular opacities in right upper & left mid zone. Had TB 4 yrs back, are these scars from earlier tb? Can this be removed?
This is a Complex Qu: This is a complex issue. Yes, TB can and often does cause fibrosis/nodular changes which typically regress partially or complete once a full course of treatment has been taken. There is of course risk of recurrence of TB. So we have to find out if your lung changes are left over of the older TB or are these new changes (progression). For this you need to go back to the doctor who treated your TB. ...Read more
Can you explain the findings on my breast ultrasound? Right breast 1.7x2.0x0.9cm cyst for Left breast 11oclock zone A position 1.7x1.6x0.6cm solid?
