Scar Won T Heal
Need to be seen: A mole that was removed and does not heal is suspicious for skin cancer. You should be seen by a dermatologist for an evaluation.
I have been getting these sores on my back for about 2 years, they don't itch but they hurt and leave scars and take a long time to heal/go away.
See a dermatologist: It is difficult to make a proper diagnosis since I am not there to see the condition. I recommend seeing a dermatologist so that they can make a proper diagnosis and give you something to get rid of the condition or relieve symptoms.
I can't stop scratching insect bites and these always cause me wounds. They heal quickly but they leave dark scars. What medicines can I apply or take?
Leave alone: The best way to deal with acne scarring is to not squeeze or traumatize the pimples. This is hard to do but they will do much less scarring. Once scarring has occurred they may lessen if you leave them alone. There are dermatologic treatments like dermabrasion and scar release for those that don't go away.See 1 more doctor answer
Time, and others.: Time is often the best way to get rid of scars, as most will fade eventually. Lasers, surgical excision or rearrangement, steroid injections, etc are all ways to treat scars. You should ask your primary doctor who to go to for this.See 1 more doctor answer
Time: Scars mature and can continue to improve for up to a year. They are sun-sensitive and may become hyperpigmented with sun exposure. The best way to treat a scar depends on the scar. Options include silicone gel, silicone sheeting, use of filler (for spot or crater-like scars), laser therapy, hydroquinone, dermabrasion, or kenalog (triamcinolone) injection, or surgical scar revision. Range of motion: For the cuts over your joints, it is important to ensure you take your hand through a full range of motion several times a day to prevent stiffness. Aloe vera or vit e applied topically with massage twice a day can help facilitate joint mobility. Use sunblock to prevent hyper pigmentation. Most importantly see the therapist rec. By dr. Probably: A scar may lighten up in color and shrink as well over a period of many months.
On the contrary: You should protect your scars from the sun... Scars will darken more quickly than surrounding skin, making them even more noticeable. Cover them or use sunblock.See 1 more doctor answer
No! Scar on scar: That having been said, some feel that laser or dermabrasion 6-8 weeks after initial injury may help to reset or restart the healing process and produce a scar that better blends into the surrounding skin but I am generally not an advocate of this approach. Avoiding further injury, including sun and tobacco use, are usually the best approach.
Actually: I would recommend that any technique be done by an acupuncturist who is using sterile, single -use disposable needles. I don't recommend performing on self as use of regular needles means that the diameter of needle is likely too large. The needle will become dull quickly and it is likely that it isn't sterile. Scar deactivation with and without e-stim and scar injection are likely beneficial. IfSee 1 more doctor answer
Why do most cuts and scraps heal without a scar for adults but scars as a child last a long time?
That is not true: Cuts and scraps also heal without a scar in children but because they are active and the cuts get recurrent trauma in some cuts depending on thec site of the cut, and also there is more chance of these getting infected and that also causes increased scarring and lastly they get more cuts and scraps than adults do.
I use to use chewing tabacco about a month ago now I have a scar where the dipuse to be will it heal?
Depends: More history is needed. Was there a "scar" present in the area while you were chewing tobacco, or did it appear after you stopped chewing? If the area is large, irritated and appears crusty and bleeds, you should have it examined by your dentist or physician.
If a deep scar is left already for a year or so, is it possible that in the distant future it will heal completely? Under which conditions?
DEEP SCAR: After a year of healin a deep scar can only de addressed surgically. You need to consult a top plastic surgeon for a consult on scar revision.
When I was away feb I think I got a bite I scratched it off developed into a scar now it's like a permanat scar will this heal in time or not?
Scars fade: If you protect the scar from further trauma and uv light, it will fade with time/ many can become nearly invisible! There are things which can improve scars such as silicone gel sheeting or pressure/massage. Most surgeons recommend waiting at least 6-12 months before you try a scar revision as frequently it will fade so well, any further surgery is a waste!See 1 more doctor answer
