Hair Loss (Definition)

Hair loss, otherwise known as alopecia, can be caused by different reasons, including damage to the hair shaft or follicles or fungal infections. There are two main types of alopecia. Alopecia areata occurs when the body's immune system attacks hair follicles and causes hair to fall out. Androgenetic (or androgenic) alopecia, on the other hand, is an inherited form of hair loss. With alopecia areata, hair can fall out in patches all over the body. With androgenetic alopecia, hair on the head first thins and then falls out. In men, this is called male pattern hair loss; in women, it is called ...Read more

See a Doctor: Was the Implanon removed? If your implant was removed than your symptoms are not from Implanon. If your Implanon is still in place, please get it removed. I'm 31m begining to show first signs of hair loss s@ back of my scalp. Does rogain or minoxidil really workk?

Yes, they may: Although, they may work for you, i'd recommend to rule out other possible causes of hair loss such as thyroid disease and/or anemia. If there is none of those, and you exhibit male baldness pattern, you may try rogaine (minoxidil). I'd not go for Minoxidil (oral) as it does have a higher incidence of side effects. ...Read more

Minoxidil induced hair loss I permanent or not? And whether it can work on bald scalp?
