Sevr scalp itch w lrg dry patches, bleed if peeled. Tried OTC shampoos & a topical cortisone liquids. No relief & can't use immune meds do to liver.?

Probably nothing: If the red spots on your skin are cherry hemangiomas / "Campbell de Morgan spots", relax, they mean absolutely nothing. I have some type of hard black/brown stuff coming from my hands feet and scalp. These leave sores on my hands and cause extreme itch. I have already done permitherin treatment for scabies twice. I find these on my clothes and bed. Any idea?

May not be dandruff: Sores on the scalp fit more with folliculitis (inflammation around the follicles). There could be many reasons for this. If they are painful, I would recommend starting with a salicylic acid shampoo (like Neutrogena T sal shampoo). There : There are several possibilities, but it sounds most likely like psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis which are red, scaly, flaky conditions of the scalp. Perhaps first try treatment with otc shampoos like nizoral, (ketoconazole) selsun blue or coal tar. If those don't work, consider prescription treatments with steroid shampoos/foams/oil treatments. Another option would be small injections of steroid into each sore (assuming you just have a few). For those with severe involvement, oral medications might be necessary and can help. ...Read more
Itchy scalp: Two things come to mind right off, head lice and ringworm. If the sores are round with raised edges and her hair is falling out it is probably ringworm and needs to be treated with an antifungal medication by mouth. You must undo your braids for the present time and allow the skin tissues to heal. The tight braids decrease your skin circulation and often allow skin infections to develop. Dermatolo. can check: If a person is getting sores on the scalp, a primary care doctor or a dermatologist (skin doctor) can check to see if there is a bacterial infection such as folliculitis. If there is an infection, oral antibiotics may be needed. My scalp was itching like crazy and got sores from scratching so i washed my scalp with ivory bar soap and it stopped. Why is that? Washing stops it.
If you are sweating a lot the scalp can get very irritated and inflamed. But sometimes the scalp get inflamed from just being dry. Medicated shampoos help (like neutrogena t gel or Nizoral (ketoconazole) which are over the counter). If this does not help, i suggest being evaluated for dermatitis along the scalp which is a common and treatable condition.
