Scalp Hygiene: You should see a dermatologist, in the meantime applied a shampoo which will be useful for fungal and bacterial infections. Broke out with itchy rash all over body including palms of hands and now I have swollen lymph nodes in back of head and itchy scalp. What's wrong?
Allergic reaction- s: I would recommend immediate medical evaluation including blood testing and possible a steroid injection to abort this allergic attack. Usually from inlation, contact or gestion of a sunstance or chemical foreign to the body's immune system. I would try zyrtec (cetirizine) and head over to the closet urgent care center. ...Read more

Dermatitis: If ALL the symptoms are on SAME side of your head and don't cross the midline then I'm worried about shingles which can later become painful. Very dry scalp on right side of head only and swollen lymph nodes at the nape of my neck/skull. Any ideas or suggestions?
Inflammatory nodes.: Most nodes in neck that represent a metastatic process are found along the jugular vein. Nodes at the nape of the neck usually drain the scalp and as such with scalp problems, this would be the cause of the process and almost always represent inflammation. This can be controlled with warm soaks to the scalp and at times antibiotics. ...Read more

Non tender lymph nodes may be an ominous sign of lymphoma, autoimmune disease or cancer. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have had a viral infection for 3-4 days, is it normal for swollen lymph nodes to appear on BOTH sides of the neck?
I have swollen lymph nodes in my groin. They are not painful and I have no infection. My GP doesn't seem to be concerned. Should I be concerned?
No: painless enlarged lymph nodes in the growing are usually caused by little nicks and minor skin infections from the toes on up the legs. Neglect: If you've not seen a doctor - you should. If this needs a Rx, take it as directed and ask for other suggestions too. Follow these carefully. Failure to do so is what would make it worse. Avoid irritation - smoking, yelling, spicy stuff. Drink lots of water, Gargle w/ saline. Honey-lemon tea is nice. Mostly follow Dr's Tx plan! Best! ...Read more
