Please see your Dr.: Please see a dermatologist as soon as possible. Many different reasons for itchy skin all over. Scabies is just one of them. If this is scabies, a simple treatment with Permethrin cream applied today and in one week and following some instructions on what to do with clothing and bedding will help you get rid of this itch. Needs treatment: Scabies rash cannot be treated with antihistamine. You need an anti-mite cream or oral medication to kill them. Even then the itching may linger on for many more days after. See your doctor if otc anti-mite agents failed. ...Read more

I've used permethrin 4 times for suspected scabies. I treated my home. I know the itchiness persists, but is it normal to get new bumps?

Hey, I had scabies and I used the premetharine cream. I have been slightly itchy & bumps look like bug bites, when will they go away or do I have it?

Scabies: One can be itchy for few weeks even after treatment but important thing here is to monitor for appearance of new lesions. Antihistamines and hydrocortisone can be tried for itch and permethrin treatment can be repeated after 1-2 weeks. Important to treat the whole family at the same time.
