Scab In Ear
Have a cold, pain in ears, hearing became muffled, keeps switching from both ears, specks of blood in ear wax?
Otitis externa?: Unless your eardrums have been perforated, there should not be blood in the earwax . The presence of blood suggests that you have been sticking something into the ear canal and the trauma is causing the bleeding. Alternatively, water might have got into your ear causing an infection. Best to contact your doctor to find out. ...Read more

Can a hole in the ear drum cause frequent ear infections? Ear was fine till ruptured and had 4-5 infections in 6mnths in same ear as hole
Sunken eardrums in both ears. Are painful to touch, loss of hearing .Feels like theres a hole in my right ear with sand in it. Ears will not pop?
Need diagnosis: Sunken ear drums can only be identified by a physician. Usually that means a negative pressure in the middle ear. You can not personally touch the ear drum so what do you mean when you say "tender to touch". If you mean the outer ear is tender to touch, that may indicate an infection in the outer ear (external otitis). You need a more specific diagnosis by an ENT doctor. ...Read more

Not typically: If the tympanic membrane (eardrum) is intact, it serves as a barrier that protects the middle ear from organisms which may enter the external ear canal. If the tympanic membrane is perforated (e.g. From trauma) or surgically opened (e.g. For ear tubes), then there is a direct route for passage of infectious organisms from the outer ear into the middle ear space. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Friend thought had ear infection. Mixed water and neosporin. Put dropper deep in ear as far can go. Filled quarter way and put all in the ear. What happens if neosporin got deep in ear or past eardrum?
Perforation worry: Sticking anything in the ear is a no-no. I'd be worried about perforation of the eardrum. Get to a physician for further evaluation. If eardrum not perforated, the neosporin and water likely not going to cause a problem. If a middle ear infection, likely not going to help either. Might for otitis externa (of the canal). Get an exam by a doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Does the antibiotic ear ointments that residue in the external ear canal can cause ringing in the ears (tinnitus)?
LO stuck qtip in ear and cut ear canal. DR. said ear drum is fine. There is some scraped, loose skin near cut. Will this heal on its own?Drops prescribed
Should respond : If you've started treatment with drops or oral meds the drainage should begin to subside within a few days. Failure to respond may mean there is too much drainage coming out for drops to be effective & a trip to the dr to have the drainage suctioned clear may be necessary. Check with your md. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I used peroxide to clean my ear this morning can the liquid get caught in the middle ear or Eustachian Tube?
Not usually: If it was applied to the outside part of the ear, then usually no. There is an ear drum that separates the outer ear from the middle ear and the eustachian tube. If there is perforation of the eardrum then potentially the answer is yes. ...Read more
