Depends: Is the vision changed? Staring at the sun normally is too painful to sustain and you would blink and probably avoid the light to prevent damage. True staring at the sun while not blinking focuses the sun on the light receptors of the retina and will burn them out causing permanent loss. I dont think so- not if you follow good eating habits for the long haul, no one is perfect. The idea is to move past it, dont dwell on it.
