It is necessary cfgf diet for autistic children 12 years old with mild autism rate?

Not necessary : More than that , wholesome diet cutting overpocessed foods eg minimizing corn syrup, high sugar foods/drinks, msg , food with long list of preservatives, is always best. Heighten veggies eg hide in food. No formal studies have proven gluten free or celiac free is a general answer. Yet some people swear by it- no harm in trying for 1-2 months and see of helps. Transition foods very slowly :) ...Read more

Is the Sonrise approach effective for kids with autism?

Is the Sonrise approach effective for kids with autism?

Because of the: home-based nature of the program, no published independent study has tested the program's efficacy. A 2003 study revealed that involvement with the program led to more drawbacks than benefits for the involved families over time, though there was a strong correlation between patterns of intervention implementation and outcomes. Is it mental abuse for daycare workers to argue with parents in front of children?

Certainly no help: Whether or not this constitutes mental abuse is probably a matter of degree and definition. The obvious question is why this conversation was begun in the presence of the children, and how it degenerated into an argument. Neither party appears to be acting like thoughtful adults, and the children will certainly not benefit from observing and then potentially copying this behavior. ...Read more

Occupational therapy for 12 year old with nvld. Very intelligent adult size boy who memorizes rather than writing due to difficulty writing?

If a child's brain is different, causing him difficulty in dealing with ideas, words, phrases, sentences, etc..., then it is not a motor skill problem, and may not benefit much from o.T. It may be worth a brief try, to see if there is improvement. ...Read more
