Salty Tasting Skin
My mouth is sore since yesterday, worse today. Especially the tip of my tongue, my gums are very sensitive too, and I tasted saltiness. Not burned.
Sore mouth from?: This would have to be personally seen by a dentist or physician in order to try to diagnose the problem. With the limited information you posted, it would be impossible to determine what the problem is. Sorry.See 1 more doctor answer
I bumped my head this morning and a few hours later I realized I can`t smell or taste anything--are the events related?
Stuffed up nose: More common reason is probably stuffed up nose. Like when you catch a cold and you can not taste or smell food. Other less likely explanation can be damage to cribriform plate, a bony structure that nerves responsible for your sense of smell runs through may explain this. Sense of smell is significantly important in tasting. However the blow needs to be quite significant to cause this.
Possibly: This usually is due to contusion vs shearing of the nerves for these sensations. Contusion can usually recover, but shearing (cutting) will lower that chance. So hope for the best and maybe you will get some if not full recovery.
This is going to sound weird, but I noticed that my husbands skin tastes funny- like a chemical-very bitter. What could be wrong with him?
Don't know: Hopefully you're not eating your husband. The taste could be related to food or medication, but can also occur with renal or hepatic disease. If you're really concerned, get him checked out at his doctor's office.
What to do if I could not smell or taste due to a head injury is there a name for this condition y?
Ansomia: This is common after even a relatively mild head injury & is related to disruption of the olfactory nerves (the sense of smell nerves). They are easily damaged as they pass through the base of the skull between the eyes. Unfortunately, recovery from this is rare. Other than not being able to smell smoke, the condition is not dangerous. Taste is involved because much of your taste is assoc w/ smell
I'm 22, I've been having pain on the right side of my head cause's me to not be able to taste, and some memory loss?
Pain: Not sure if u had head trauma before, headaches or what medications you take. Best to consult a neurologist for workup.
I bought skin firming cream it has: avobenzone, homosolate, octisalate, octocrylene, & oxybenzone. I rubbed it all over my face & got some in my mout. I taste it. It wasn't that much. What to do?
Spit first: Wash your mouth out. If you purchased it to rub on your face and a small tastable amount got into your mouth, it should not kill you. If it were so toxic, someone else would have already succommed. You should be fine.See 1 more doctor answer
See an ENT: It could be nothing but as you are alluding to, clear salty fluid coming from the nose is concerning for spinal fluid. If you have enough coming out, I would get a sealable small clean dry and catch as many drops as you can so they can run a beta-2-transferrin test on it. You will need about 1/2 a teaspoon worth of fluid to test it. Of course it could just be allergies or a cold!
Mysister25.Nogenetic for mri. She does not feel taste for 1 week. And loosebalancenot seriously. She didmri for head report mention ms. Isms curable?
Current state: Am concerned that she may well have MS, and if so, needs immediate initiation of a disease modifying agent. MS is not curable but is definitely controllable in most cases if potent medication and treatment is used. Delays can result in unsatisfactory outcomes.See 1 more doctor answer
For the past few weeks I have noticed a bad bitter almond taste as a result of cracking my neck, or turning my head to a certain side. What is this?
Nothing: There is no relationship between the 2 issues.
What is the difference between a person that can feel mold spores on skin. Taste them and irritating them to a person that feels nothing? Geneo type?
Not understanding: I am not understanding your question. This does not make sense.
After having surgery to get a cyst out of my head I cant taste any type of food or drink. Also it makes me sick whenever I eat. What do I do to fix it?
Could be serious: Did you have surgery involving the brain? If so you may have normal post-operative swelling causing these symptoms. But any complications of brain surgery are potentially very serious and life-threatening and you should let your surgeon know right away or go to an ER to check if these symptoms are normal after your particular surgery.
