This : This is likely due to eustachian tube problems caused by the sinus infection. The antibiotics will clear the infection and help with the inflammation. If : If her pain is persisting even with pain medication, then she needs to go back to her primary for a follow up and a change in medication. Stay away from Afrin (oxymetazoline): Sorry about using brand names but you really want to stay from afrin, neosynephrine (phenylephrine) & similar products. They're fantastic decongestants but quickly lead to rhinitis medicamentosa which is our fancy way of saying you become addicted to them.
