Safe Ultram Pain Disease
I take Ultram for fibro, Zoloft and Xanax (alprazolam) for panic anxiety disorder, and a Ambien at night for sleep is this a safe combo?
Xanax (alprazolam): I don't really recommend short acting benzos like xanax (alprazolam) for panic, they are associated with inter-dose withdrawal, faster tolerance and gradual elevation of baseline anxiety , discuss the issue with your psychiatrist, otherwise the combination is ok. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
I am on a fentanyl patch to control my pain I have fibromyalgia, chronic Lyme disease. I forgot this morning, took Ultram twice 100 mg, I am naseous.?
Nausea: Nausea can be a symptom of opiate withdrawal, but you are wearing your fentanyl patch. Nausea is also a common side effect of ultram. It's possible that this is the result of the inadvertent double dose of ultram you gave yourself, rather than opiate withdrawal. I suggest contacting your physician, and also creating a way to consistently keep track of the pills you take each day. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

How long does Ultram last for pain? Vicodin is stronger but doesn't seem to work as well or last as long. Is Ultram safer
6-8 hours.: Half of the medicine is gone from your body in 6-8 hours. Medication is generally prescribed every 6 hours. Vicodin is stronger and half of the medication is gone in 3-5 hours. Historically tramadol has been considered safer. There is some controversy right now on it's safety, but it has been out for 15 years already. I just took my last dose of methadone, 5 mg. At 6am this morning. I've dropped down from 30 to 5 in a month. Is it safe to take Ultram now for pain?
I have never had addiction problems (58 years). Just prescribed Ultram for significant arthritis pain. Is Ultram safe to use?
Probably: Tramadol(ultram) is an opioid since it works by stimulating the mu opioid receptor. It should have been controlled by the fda right at the outset. I have needed to detox numerous people from it. However, your history suggests you can use this safely. As long as you use it for severe pain, avoid routine use, avoid any pattern of use- you will likely be fine. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I was perscribed Ultram/tramadol for my tumors & now new pain for a messed up epidural yet Im breastfeeding a 2week old, is this safe to take or toss?
Probably Safe: Ultram is probably safe for breast feeding. Limited information has shown minimal risk for problems in the baby or in your milk production. However, I advise you to closely monitor how your baby is doing while you are on the medication. Again there is a small risk, but your pain control and health are also important, because the healthier you are, the better it is for your baby! I hope this helps. ...Read more

I had a fairly severe allergic reaction to morphine. I am also allergic to vicodin, codeine, and nsaids. Is tramadol/ultram safe? I have read conflicting things.
True allergic : Reaction to meds presents with itching, hives, chest pain, shortness of breath and choking sensation. If u had nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea etc, these are side effects to the drug and not an allergic reaction. Tramadol should be fine if u were allergic to the other drugs. Dr. Prescribed Ultram and Soma for chronic back pain, when needed, just recently he put me on zoloft (sertraline). Safe to take together or which combo to avoid.
Drug interaction: It is not recommended to mix tramadol with antidepressants such as zoloft (sertraline) due to increased risk of developing serotonin syndrome. Soma and zoloft (sertraline) can cause drowsiness. Please talk to your doctor before taking these medications together. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Not sure of question: I'm not clear on what you're seeking - a non-narcotic pain reliever or specifically one in the class w/tramadol.Tramadol is pretty much unique in the way it affects brain's pain receptors w/out all the side-effects of opiates.Other less addictive pain meds are NSAIDs, anti-depressants, nerve stabilizers like Lyrica (pregabalin) or Neurontin, etc.If you need to change meds, talk w/ your doctor before doing so. ...Read more
