Suggest any herbal plants or safe medicines to bring on menstrual period?

No trials: There have been no clinical trials on herbal medicines to do this, so I don't recommend any. If you are significantly overdue I would recommend a pregnancy test and also to call your doctor.

Immediately after the menstrual period, how long is it safe to have unprotected sex?

Never!: Although it may take a few days for ovulation to occur after a period, there really isn't a "safe" period of time for unprotected sex. If not pregnancy, then std's are always possible. Fraternal twins are an example of two separate eggs occurring in the same cycle at different times with subsequent fertilization.

Are there any pills that are safe to take while breastfeeding that could delay my menstrual period for a few days or a week? It'd really help, thanks!

Are there any pills that are safe to take while breastfeeding that could delay my menstrual period for a few days or a week? It'd really help, thanks!

Yes, oral progrstins: First, breast-feeding is a great decision. Breast-feeding alone can give you reduced or absent cycles. There is a specific type of birth control pill call progestin only pills. These are safe to take while breast-feeding and can also help prevent a menstrual cycle. Additionally, oral Provera (medroxyprogesterone) taken twice a day for 10 days can also prevent a cycle. These are medications perscibed by a doctor.

Doc, how to prevent unwanted pregnancy? Without using condom, pills, etc etc. Is it true week before and after of menstrual period is safe period?

No safe period: Pregnancy has been established on any day of a womans cycle, including menses. Some days are less likely than others but there are no completely safe days. Find an acceptable method (sponge, spermicide, pill, etc.) or accept the risk of pregnancy.

Is a 24 day menstrual cycle normal? Sometimes I have 2 periods in one month. Seems too close.

Menses: Normal range is 21-35 days. Two periods in one month is probably too close together. Should be checked. If you are on birth control pills it is easier to control the bleeding. Situational problems, stress can cause missed or extra periods.

Provera (medroxyprogesterone): Depending on where you are at in your cycle, your doctor can prescribe you 5-10 days worth of Provera (medroxyprogesterone) and then when you stop the medication it will cause a cycle. Hope that helps!

I am 17 and my menstrual cycle isn't regular. I've my periods every 3 months. Is it fine if this happens?

Maybe okay: At 17, the communication between your pituitary gland that tells your ovaries what hormones to make is still maturing. It's possible that this is why your periods are irregular. It's also possible that extremes of weight such as too thin or too heavy can be a cause as well. Thyroid can also play a role. At some point, maybe by 18, if you're periods aren't regular, make an appt with gynecologist.

Delayed period: If you are concerned about possibly being pregnant, then get a home pregnancy test kit from your pharmacy and follow the directions. These home tests are very accurate when done correctly, and doing the test following a missed is the best time. No need to wait and wonder.

Is a 44 day menstrual cycle normal? My periods are usually pretty regular, every 44 days or so but I have been told that my cycle is strangely long.

Periods vary.: Not all women have the typical 28 day cycle. Some are 21 days or shorter; others, like you, have quite extended cycles. So long as you are otherwise healthy, and your periods are not excessively heavy or painful, the length of time between them should not worry you. If you're trying to conceive (or avoid conception), simple urine tests (LH strips) can help determine your fertile period.

How can I regulate my periods, my last menstrual cycle was Sep 26, 14.?

How can I regulate my periods, my last menstrual cycle was Sep 26, 14.?

Visit your doctor: Irregular periods can be due to multiple issues such as poly cystic ovarian disease (PCOD), hypothyroidism, hyperprolactinemia, or too much exercise (runner). I would advise you see your doctor to determine the cause. But I would start by thinking about PCOD, In PCOD mensturation is irregular, patients have sugar control issues (diabetes), weight gain can be an issue. Tx starts w/ diet & exercise.
