Day 5 of pantoprazole and awoke with aura migraine with vomiting and just don't feel right. Also 8 wk pregnant, could be side effects?
Hard to tell: Pregnancy can increase migraines, a new medication can trigger migraines or it might be neither. If you have never had a migraine headache before I would see your doctor ASAP. Pregnant on pantaprozole for suspected ulcer. Not diabetic, dizzy, blood sugar has increased, fasting BS was 106 this morning. Should I discontinue?
Pantaprozole: Protonix is a category B drug (No evidence of risk in humans), so from the stand point of pregnancy, there is no evidence of harm to fetus. It is known to cause hyperglycemia with long-term use (i'm not of mechanism),. Your fasting BS is elevated above 90, and your doctor needs to monitor you for gestational diabetes and may take you off the Protonix temporarily for that reason. ...Read more
