Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Are laxatives safe to use (once or twice a month) during pregnancy?

Laxatives: Most laxatives are what is called category c in pregnancy which means that damage has been seen only in experimental animals but can't tell for sure in humans. One of the safest ones is lactulose which is category b which is better. Anyway, you are better off trying a high fiber diet (fruits, veggies, prune juice) and plenty of water. Obstetrician: I firmly believe that a pregnant woman should check with her obstetrician before taking any medications and that includes over the counter ones as some products could stimulate uterine contractions although a simple stool softener like colace (docusate sodium) shouldn't be a problem. ...Read more

Is Skinny Fiber safer to take during a normal pregnancy? It helps reduce hunger speed up matbolisim and it's all natural ingredients I'm 16 weeks

Unknown: All natural does not equate safe. I reviewed this product ingredients and none of them would be things tested by the FDA for safety in pregnant patients. I am assuming you might be overweight already and the best way to control weight during pregnancy is to eat a healthy diet that avoids simple carbohydrates (sugar). Lots of veggies and lean protein are best. Also limit your complex carbs. ...Read more

Is it safe to use GNC natural brand super digestive enzymes (http://www. Gnc. Com/product/index. Jsp? Productid=2291) during pregnancy? It has papain, which I have heard mixed things about. I have ibs.

I would avoid.: The GNC ones you asked about do not appear to be enteric coated which means these enzymes will be broken down by stomach acid before reaching the gut, rendering them mostly useless. There is some evidence that some of these enzymes might affect folate (folic acid) absorption which is critical for early neural development, so I would recommend saving your money! Perhaps invest in some organic veggies instead! ...Read more

It it safe to use ipad and cellular phones during pregnancy?

There is no conclusive study. Since that is so, I can't say you can't use your gadgets, but limit it to need only so you will stay on the cautious and safe side. Good luck. ...Read more
