Safe, effective: Yes, miconazole is safe in pregnancy. And medication expiration dates are very conservative. Even years after the printed date, most drugs are equally and no more toxic. Meds in pregnancy: Three issues here. 1. All medications to be used during pregnancy should be checked with ob/gyn. 2. There are antifungal topical prescription medications that are pregnancy category b, meaning it's ok to use during pregnancy if needed. 3. Combination steroid-antifungal creams don't work. Usually have strong steroid & weak antifungal and can make fungal infections worse. Please see dermatologist. ...Read more
