Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

General rule: Creams or lotions you apply to the skin surface will not transfer a detectable amount of med through the skin to your blood. If it doesn't get into your blood it cannot effect the fetus. Only specialized prescription meds, placed on patches with penetration capabilities would get through the skin. You generally never need to worry about over the counter creams/lotions/liquids you apply to your ski ...Read more

Is 2wice a day use of clinique acne solution safe during pregnancy? Cleanser 2% salicylic, toner 1.5% salicylic, moisturizer 2.5% benzoyl per oxide

Category C: Benzoyl peroxide is a pregnancy category c drug, which basically means that someone was able to produce birth defects in lab animals using it, probably in preposterously high doses and something more than putting in the mother mouse's face. While I don't believe there's any danger to you, you'd do well not to use it simply o keep yourself from worrying or blaming the medicine if something happens. ...Read more

Is electrolysis hair removal on the face safe during pregnancy?

Electrolysis: I'll be very frank with you.. . **i** don't feel it is safe for anyone. Certainly not it pregnancy, where two people are involved and one cannot yet make the decision, but even non-gravid women should know that it's almost a worthless pursuit -- it really doesn't work very well, and the risks of scarring, infections, and so forth are really significant. I don't recommend it! ...Read more

Is it safe during pregnancy to use castor oil topically on your face to help with acne? More specifically, i'd like to use cold pressed castor oil.

Poor choice: Why use an ancient, not-very-effective folk medicine promoted by charlatans? The best over-the-counter acne remedy is benzoyl peroxide, but if it's bugging you enough to consider "cold-pressed" castor oil, see if your physician would add topical Clindamycin to peroxide. The birth control pill stops acne in many women who can use it, and there are other stronger rx's after baby comes. ...Read more
