Is the ingredients mention below suitable for pregnant woman 1) Collagen peptide 2) perilla seed extract 3) silk protein 4) soy isolfavone?

Forget this stuff.: Take your prenatal vitamins, folic acid, calcium and Vit. D and nothing else. All of those products are poorly studied and there is very little responsible, independent testing to determine if they actually work or if they may have side effects, or harm fetuses. Also the companies have different ways of making up these pills. Save your money and spend it on plenty of fruits and veggies instead. ...Read more

How much sugar in TB spoons is in 20ml of 30% glucose solution ?

How much sugar in TB spoons is in 20ml of 30% glucose solution ?

Here is the math: A 30% glucose solution contains 30 gms of glucose in 100 ml of solution, that would be 6 gms in 20 ml. A tablespoon of sugar is about 12 grams of sugar. Therefore 20 ml of a 30% glucose solution is equivalent to about 1/2 tablespoon of sugar. I'm not sure how this info helps you, but there it is. ...Read more

Is sucrose dextrose in gatorade good for children?

Is sucrose dextrose in gatorade good for children?

No: It is high caloric, low-to-no nutritional value empty calories. It is no better than a candy bar or soda-pop. If your child runs a half-marathon or more daily, it may be indicated to replenish depleted stores of electrolytes and sugars, but otherwise it is not good for children. It was designed with high-power college athletes in mind, not little kids playing around in the back yard. ...Read more

8 wk old milk/soy protein allergy -on neocate, &allergic to rice. Showed similar reaction to nutra that contained rice/corn starch-allergic to starch?

8 wk old milk/soy protein allergy -on neocate, &allergic to rice. Showed similar reaction to nutra that contained rice/corn starch-allergic to starch?

Milk Allergy: Allergies are due to a reaction to protein. Corn is a starch or carbohydrate. If you infant reacted to nutra, it would not be from reacting to the starch. I assume the reaction was either eczema or bloody stools, not gas or a change in stools. If the reaction was not eczema or bloody stools, your baby may be intolerant and not allergic. ...Read more

Hi doctor. Can i eat mix powder of egg white powder, wheat germ powder, formula baby instead protein powder for volume muscle?

Sounds unpleasant...: To increase muscle mass you need to increase weights when you strength train. Adequate protein is important in your diet - but no concoction is going to give you the gains you want without you doing the work. I would suggest that lean meats would be a more appetizing way to meet the protein requirements. ...Read more

Probiotics gives lactobacillus acidophillus & bifidobacterium. Whey: beta lactoglobulin & alpha lactalbumin. Can both provide similar benefits?

No: Probiotics and whey provide different benefits. They both have "lacto" in their names, which may be the source of your confusion. Lacto means related to milk. Lactobacillus is a bacteria that can grow in dairy products. Whey is the thin, clear liquid that is left when milk has curdled; it is high in protein. Probiotics are good for intestinal health. Whey is primarily a protein source. ...Read more

I take background insulin (humulin i) and quick acting ( Novorapid (insulin aspart)). In Phase 1 I would not need to use the Novorapid (insulin aspart) but what about the Humulin i?

I take background insulin (humulin i) and quick acting ( Novorapid (insulin aspart)). In Phase 1 I would not need to use the Novorapid (insulin aspart) but what about the Humulin i?

Insulin: I assume Humulin N, and novorapid (insulin aspart). Diabetes in its natural course of the disease tends to progress and likely to use more medicine is not unusual. Initially controlled with the intermediate acting Humulin N is no longer enough and body needs more help with meals, so rapid acting novorapid (insulin aspart) is added. It is standard to use long or intermediate acting insulin along with rapid acting insulin. ...Read more

Is monk fruit extract (monk fruit in the raw) a healthy sweetener to add to my coffee?

Probably Acceptable: Monk Fruit In The Raw® is a zero-calorie sweetener made from monk fruit, a vine-ripened fruit native to Asia.
