Physiologic: Being helped to go downstairs may be the most stressful and strenuous work your son does? It's physiologic (normal) for BP to spike during strenuous work. It merely reflects physical deconditioning and the coping mechanisms our autonomic nervous system uses to assure good blood supply during a period of need . Check neck position: Assess whether you have your neck at an akward angle with too many pillows. Unless there is some pressure on your neck or sudden movement of it, having your head up doesn't usually aggravate your degenerative, arthritis related, neck pain. ...Read more

Not worrisome: in and of itself, this is not too worrisome - probably you had your head angled in a way that a nerve root in your cervical spine became briefly compressed. That said, if the electrical pains and numbness persists and worsens, or (and especially) if you develop weakness in your arm somewhere (eg biceps) then a short steroid taper might help and an MRI of the C-spine may be warranted. ...Read more

My left shoulder pains continuously. Aggravates when i exercise/lift weight. Mri is normal. Had ultrasound n electric physiotherapy. But still pains!

Look elsewhere: Sometimes shoulder pain can come from other areas and be referred, such as the neck. Also sometimes pt is necessary if there are muscle imbalances and you might need work on the scapular stabilizers. Should be checked out. ...Read more
