Torn or inflamed?: If torn it will not flex & stays in a somewhat extended position. It also causes a limp since it is involved in push off. Hurts when it happens & may have some calf cramping, but pain goes away fairly fast. If inflamed it hurts in gait push off, u may deal & hear it squeaking. All attempt 2flex is painfull. Dx with subluxation of peroneal tendons. Ordered MRI and said no indication of surgery. Have pain along length of tendons. Snapping tendon when walk.
Peroneal tendon: MRI is a static diagnostic exam so will not show active action of your peroneal tendons. Because you were laying down and stationary, the MRI may not pick up the clinical picture like your doctor would. You may need bracing, rehab or surgery of symptoms don't resolve.
