Is rubella antibody good or bad?

Is rubella antibody good or bad?

Depends: A positive test for rubella immunity indicates your body has been exposed to wild rubella or the rubella vaccine ; developed protective antibodies to it. If you are female, it means you will not pass rubella to your fetus if u are exposed to the illness during pregnancy and get the disease. A separate igm test can be positive and show you have had rubella or the vaccine recently. Bad if pregnant.

Is a positive for rubella antibody to be positive but you still get it?

Rubella antibodies: Ob's routinely screen for issues that may cause problems for your pregnancies. German measles (rubella) is a brief illness that is known to cause miscarriage, fetal damage (deafness, blindness, major organ damage). Ob's want to know if you (& baby) are at risk of this problem so they can plan accordingly. If you have antibody it means you and baby are not at risk.

Please help if I can go ahead with my pregnancy rubella antibody IgM 1.33 equivocal rubella avidity IgG 71.90% high rubella antibody IgG 34.4 reactive?

Rubella: Rubella, also known as the german measles, is an infection in which there is a rash on the skin. You are immunized against rubella with the positive igg. The igm should be repeated and you can ask for a nasal or throat swab sent for culture. Ask your ob! Did you/do you have a rash or symptoms?

If my rubella antibody titers were low during prenatal screening would they have told me?

If my rubella antibody titers were low during prenatal screening would they have told me?

Yes, however: The best way to find out is to call your doctor and ask. If you have had a regular immunization schedule, you should be immune. The CDC has recently changed guidelines for immunization with MMR due to resurgence of the disease due to a significant number of unvaccinated persons in the US population. You can review those guidelines by going to www. CDC. Gov.

Rubella IgG antibodies serum by cmia positive 74.9, can you tell me what does this mean?

Rubella IgG antibodies serum by cmia positive 74.9, can you tell me what does this mean?

CMIA: Stands for chemoluminescent microparticle immunoassay. This is the way the a specific rubella antibody test is done. This is a typical test done in pregnant women to make sure they are immune to rubella. This particular test result is positive, which means you are immune to rubella, which means the shot you received for rubella worked. This is important because rubella can harm the fetus.

In 14th week of pregnancy rubella IgG antibodies is 52.10. Is normal or needs some attention? My baby is affected or not?

In 14th week of pregnancy rubella IgG antibodies is 52.10. Is normal or needs some attention? My baby is affected or not?

Rubella IGG: This is good news. It means that you had rubella, aka german measles, in the past and are now immune to it and so cannot fall sick with it during your pregnancy. This is important since getting rubella while pregnant is dangerous for the growing baby. Best wishes for a very healthy baby.

RUBELLA IgG ANTIBODIES count is 1.96 and I am 8 weeks pregnant now. What is this result means? Please assist me.

Rubella non-immune: It means that you are not immune to rubella and can get sick if you are exposed to a sick person. It is very unlikely as active rubella is a rare case today, but you still need to be careful. You can get vaccinated after delivery as it is a live vaccine and cannot be given during pregnancy. Ask your doctor what will be the best way for you. Most hospitals offer it prior to discharge from L&D.

Hi Dr. My wife is about 10 weeks pregnent, her test result of Rubella IgG antibody is 16.8 IU/ml. Please tell me that what it shows?

Depends on lab: You need to ask your OB. It depends on the primal ranges in the lab. It sounds like she has antibodies to rubella, which means she is immune. That is a good thing.
