Will ILK injections help decrease scalp inflammation/hair loss caused by seborrheic dermatitis, thus, possibly restore hair growth? Side effects?
Can 'topical' finasteride or dutasteride (scalp lotion) inhibit DHT on scalp? ı mean ,can topical finasteride or dutasteride treat male baldness
It may: There are 2 different reactions that you may have to a cream that causes darkening. First, you may be allergic to the cream and the darkening is a response. Second, may be whats called post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. This is a response to either an allergic reaction or to the chemical reaction that is used to remove your hair. Usually stopping the cream will lead to lightening your skin. ...Read more
Which is the most effective cream for seborrheic dermatitis facial region ( ketocanzole 2% , ciclopirox 1%, or pimecrolimus 1%)?
Ketoconazole: Ketoconazole is my preference. Apply 2x/day for 1-2 weeks, and then you can use a couple of times/week as maintenance/prevention. Short term use of 1% hydrocortisone cream 1-2/x day can be used for a few days also to minimize redness and irritation. Don't use hydrocortisone frequently due to side effects, including the thinning of the skin in this area. ...Read more

For hyperkeratotic skin diseases, which is more better for sensitive skin - lactic acid lotion (lac-hydrin) or urea-based creams?
Both used: It really depends on the percentages of each medication. Many preparations have both urea and Lactic Acid in them. Your skin is also unique and what might appear to be gentler might give you a worse reaction than the so-called potent preparation. If you are treating keratosis pilaris (kp) then you might seek the help of a dermatologist or even have a preparation compounded. ...Read more
Maybe: It won't help you grow a thicker beard. About 5% of guys in the US can't grow much of a beard, and at age 25 it's time for you to accept what Mother Nature gave you. If somebody is giving you a hard time over your sparse growth, simply recognize mean-minded man-made superstition and be done with all that nonsense. Manage your acne with topical benzoyl peroxide & maybe your doctor's Rx. ...Read more
Which supplement would be better natures bounty hair skin and nails or twinlab hair factors to cure dry damaged brittle chemically relaxed hair?
Tincture of time: You can try either of the products you mentioned, but in general, once hair shafts are damaged they will stay damaged until you grow your hair out. So stop applying chemicals, or at very least use something less harsh, and be very gentle with it (minimize brushing, blow drying, etc.) until new, healthy hair shafts can grow in. ...Read more
Need some medication for inflamed skin after applying 5% benzoyl peroxide for acne type of skin is sensitive?
Several options: Stop using the benzoyl peroxide and get with your physician. You may be able to tolerate salicylic acid or a retinoic acid derivative. For now, aloe vera or a moisturizer should help. There are other medications for acne that are worth trying; remember not to use antibiotics as monotherapy. ...Read more
Can i apply topical hyaluronic acid to plump skin if desonide thins facial skin? Can it counter? This is for seb derm/eczema/pd/skin flaking.
Skin thinning: Skin thinning from topical steroids involves decrease in thickness of epidermis and loss of collagen from dermis. Hyaluronic acid (ha) holds water molecules & if applied to skin surface, skin looks temporarily more plump due to increased water content. Topical ha does nothing to increase thickness of epidermis or replace collagen. Other meds besides topical steroids can be used to treat seb derm. ...Read more

Are products with ceramides, hyaluronic acid, cholesterol and niacinamide generally helpful for oily, sensitive facial skin Dx seborrheic dermatitis?
No: These are very useful for DRY skin and eczema. Seborrheic dermatitis will respond to an azole cream such as ketoconazole, clotrimazole, or miconazole. Topical steroids are very effective but on the face calcineurin inhibitors are preferred. Washing with a dandruff shampoo, typically in a shower, can be very beneficial. Some meds and vitamins aggravate it. ...Read more
Can the liquid wax paraffinum liquidum be topical applied to hair without blocking vitamin absorption? It's in a hair styling product I have. Thanks
Paraffinum: liquidum is a form of mineral oil. It is a common ingredient in cosmetics including hair products. It has been regulated by the Food and Drug Administration and in the amounts found in common hair products can be considered safe. I doubt it would measurably affect vitamin absorption. Good wishes:) ...Read more
