HIV Infection: Technically speaking PCR is conclusive at the time of infection. The moment HIV enters the human blood stream it explodes. Viral tires go into the multiple millions. So testing by PCR would easily catch this. The problem is..it is not intended to be used as a screening test due to the cost. See below: It is good that it is negative but it is too soon to exclude HIV. Get a HIV nucleic acid test and if that is negative at 6 months after exposure that would essentially exclude HIV. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. About 95%: RNA testing for HIV isn't usually recommended excapt in very high risk situations, like unprotected sex with a known-infected partner. But a negative result at 12 days probably is around 95% conclusive. For 100%, also have an HIV antibody blood test at 4 weeks. The combination of those two negative results will be conclusive.
