Yes: One of the complications of pid is ectopic pregnancy. This does not mean that you will get an ectopic pregnancy. Rather it means that some women with pid will have had some scarring in the fallopian tubes which can prevent a fertilized egg from going to the uterine cavity. Generally there will be abnormal bleeding and/or pain. You certainly need to inform your OB of prior pid. ...Read more

Neither: The IUD increases one's risk for ectopic pregnancy only very very slightly. The mini pill doesn't increase your risk of ectopic. Statistically I wouldn't make a decision based on these 2 forms of birth control vis-v-vis ectopic given how little influence they would have. IUDs are very safe and a lot more effective at preventing pregnancy than the mini-pill. ...Read more
