Spotted rash on stomach and some spots on arms the resemble fungas or ringworm...Small spots randomly on areas of stomach and couple on back side?

Pityriasis rosea?: Rashes are difficult to describe in words. A primary care doctor or a dermatologist can examine a peach spots rash to see what it might be. Sometimes rashes are related to viruses, allergies, medications, etc., but many times they are not. For odd rashes, skin biopsy may be done by a dermatologist. One should bring to the doctor a list of all medications used in the month before the rash appeared. ...Read more

Can you explain how someone gets ringworm and what it looks like in the beginning stages? With 2 small children I want to be aware of the signs.

Direct contact: Ringworm is caused by a fungus and is contagious so children may get it when they come in contact with someone who has it or by sharing towels, linen, or even combs as some children get ringworm of the head after a hair cut. Although circular like a ring, the edges may be raised while the center is pale. In early stages however it may just be a cluster of small papules. ...Read more

I think my son has ringworm and now I have a small one on my face. Can you prescribe medication. We have been already using lotrimin (clotrimazole) but need stronger?

Two issues: The public HT site does not offer diagnosis and or treatment. If you can find a HT prime doc that will accept you, some of those services are possible. Read the site info. If your assumption is correct, lotrimin (clotrimazole) applied twice a day is adequate for ringworm, but may require more than a week to see any change. Treatments for ringworm will not help a skin problem caused by something else. ...Read more

Yes: Tinea corporis (ring worm) can be contagious and can certainly spread. It is common to have several areas of ringworm at once in different body areas. Inflammation of Face: Presuming the ringworm has been treated. The residual redness can be due to an irritant or allergic reaction from the topical medication you used to treat the ringworm or residual inflammation from the ringworm itself.
