I've been wearing contacts for over a year now. But recently, my eyes get red whenever I wear them (red ring around both iris) please help! ?

Hi I'm 18 and have dark brown eyes and recently I have noticed that my iris have developed a grey outer ring. Is it something I should worry about?
Grey ring on iris:
IMahmood ~ that is an early onset of "arcus senilis" characteristic of older people. It is probably of no significance, but it is sometimes associated with raised cholesterol so have your cholesterol panel done and if normal I would not be concerned, but check cholesterol regularly.

Both my parents have brown eyes but i seem to have light green with dark green rings around the outer iris. How is this possible?
Eye color: I am sure there was someone in your family with hazel, green, or blue eyes in the past. Eye color genetics is complicated with probably 15-16 different genes influencing it. The melanin content of the iris plus the light scattering produce the color. There are point mutations or polymorphisms that affect the gene regulatory system. Parental testing would probably show you were your parents' child. ...Read more

I have a slight brown colored shade/ring around iris in my eyes that i never noticed before so it is normal or something that I should worry about?
Depends: Depends on your eye color and where the ring is. If it on the white part of the eye, it is normal and likely there your whole life. If it is on the cornea in front if the iris, then that is certainly not normal and can be a sign of a condition called wilson's dz. If you are not sure, see an ophthalmologist right away. Good luck! ...Read more

Hi, I'm just wondering if you can help me, I've been suffering with server headaches and it's giving me a red ring around my iris in my eye.
Problem inside eye: The headache might be secondary to an inflammation inside the eye termed uveitis which can cause the red ring you have noticed. If the vision is down and the eye is light sensitive you should see an ophthalmologist as soon as possible to rule out this potentially vision threatening condition. ...Read more

I slept in my contacts and now i'm seeing a red ring around my iris, what should I do about this? Is it an early sign of an eye infection?
Probably not: No. It is most likely due to the lens tightening during the night, compressing the tissue and blood vessels around the eye. There is probably some edema of your cornea, which you would notice as your vision will not be clear. Leave your lenses out for a day or two and then start wearing them part of the day and build up to all day. Don't sleep in them again! ...Read more

3 weeks boy. White-blond hair. Pupils seem to be black, but has greyish ring in iris. Fluorescent light reflects off eyes. Has brown freckle. Albinism?
Oculocutaneous: Albinism is a group of 4 conditions, each caused by a specific gene mutation inherited in an autosomal recessive pattern. When both parents carry the gene mutation, each of their children has a 25% chance of having oca. See his pediatrician ; a pediatric ophthalmologist for diagnosis ; referral to a geneticist if he has it. Lack of melanin in the retina causes vision problems, so you need to know. ...Read more
There is a tiny red ring around my iris and my eye burns and hurts. What could this be? I cant get into the eye doctor for a couple of days.
Possible Iritis: It is difficult to be certain without actually being able to examine your eye with a slit lamp, but what you are describing sounds like it might be iritis, which is inflammation of the iris and the adjacent structures. This usually causes pain, light sensitivity and sometimes blurred vision. I would contact your eye doctor again to see if you can get in sooner for evaluation and treatment. ...Read more
