Probably muscular: Probably muscular, can ask for a referral to physical therapy for a few weeks. Also need to consder that is might come from the neck. Yawning causes you to tilt you head back, and the cervical extension might exacerbate facetogenic pain referring to the mid back. Recommend seeing a physician for further evaluation. ...Read more

See a Dr: A month of even moderate pain is long enough to wait. Extreme = DO IT NOW. You need to be examined. It might be nothing major, but let a pro look at the situation.
