Is weird numbness and tingling on the left side of your left hand a symptom of impending heart attack?

Is weird numbness and tingling on the left side of your left hand a symptom of impending heart attack?

Probably not: Arm pain that radiates (travels to) the hand and particularly the fingers is usually not heart related, but more likely to be a pinched nerve in the neck. The is referred to as as cervical neuropahy, if it comes from the spine, or brachial neuropathy, if it comes from lower down. I've seem this happen if someone leans heavily on crutches they have been using for a sprained knee.

I've had a numbness and tingling on the left side of my face and head and every once in a while I get a cold sensation on the same side?

Several reasons: Your symptoms suggest possible bells palsy presentations which is temporary to something more ominous like a a small stroke, multiple sclerosis, or a brain mass. You should see your primary care doc right away for the proper evaluation, and if he /she is uncomfortable, they will refer you to a neurologist.

I have numbness and tingling in my whole left side of body (under investigation) but why are these areas more painful to touch?

I have numbness and tingling in my whole left side of body (under investigation) but why are these areas more painful to touch?

Why indeed: Whatever is causing the numbness & tingling is also causing the painful sensation. The sense of touch is multimodality & of mind-mangling complexity. When you say the areas are "more painful, " do you mean allodynia, hyperpathia, dysesthesia or hyperalgesia? (The idea is now for you to look up those terms and try to determine which 1 (or more) applies to you.)

What are the symptoms of having a herniated disk in the lower back? I have numbness and tingling in the lower back when sitting?

What are the symptoms of having a herniated disk in the lower back? I have numbness and tingling in the lower back when sitting?

Many symptoms...: While this could be a sign of a herniated disc, it sounds a little more like facet arthritis as it does not radiate to different areas and does not have a constant dull ache. That being said, a physical exam and imaging would be necessary to be sure. If you are concerned about an actual herniation, then I would recommend seeing a physician for an exam to be safe.

I have being feeling numbness and tingling on my whole right side what can this be.....?

I have being feeling numbness and tingling on my whole right side what can this be.....?

Many things: While these symptoms are usually self limited and inconsequential, if these persist more than a week or so, with your young age, see your family md for evaluation. It would be best to figure it out early rather than late. Whether these are symptoms from the brain, spinal cord, or peripheral nerves, you will need some workup if they don't go away.

Should I be worried about a neuroepthial cyst located in the left choroid fissure region with numbness and tingling on left side.

Should I be worried about a neuroepthial cyst located in the left choroid fissure region with numbness and tingling on left side.

Choroid cyst: No. A choroid plexus or neuroepithelial cyst is a benign mass. A cyst has to be large enough to put pressure on the surrounding brain. Also, a left-sided cyst would cause symptoms on the right side of the brain. A left-sided cyst would not cause left-sided symptoms.

I have a pea sized lymph node (i believe) in my middle neck that won't go away. I have had numbness and tingling unilaterally to the left side. No ms?

I have a pea sized lymph node (i believe) in my middle neck that won't go away. I have had numbness and tingling unilaterally to the left side. No ms?

Not my diagnosis: Lots of reasons for left sided tingling and numbness, and could be problem in neck or even peripheral nerves. The lesion in your neck could be a sebaceous cyst. Have your doctor evaluate these additional concerns, but so far, no issue to have concern about ms.

Hurt my neck 2 days ago. I have numbness and tingling but its also a symptom of my panic attacks. I bumped head into wall. It wasn't hard at all.?

Depends: You did not say where the numbness ; tingling are. If worsening, spreading (arms, hands), or you have weakness (arms, hands), or trouble walking, go to your doctor, who can ask you more questions and examine you. If symptoms mild, you can wait and see if they get better on their own.

I have expressive dysphasia with slight numbness and tingling on the right side of my face. It happens periodically. I have been to the ER twice about

Expressive dysphasia: Is caused by a lesions in areas of the brain required to produce language, which is verbal or written expression of thoughts & ideas. Dysarthria is caused by a disturbance of control of muscles required to produce speech, which is articulation + pronunciation. It can be caused by central or peripheral nervous system lesions. See a neurologist for accurate diagnosis & treatment.

My name is pat adams. I'm 47 years old and I'm experiencing numbness and tingling on my right side, arm, leg and foot as well.?

Pat: Visit your internist and let them examine you. I wonder if you have any back pain? Certainly, don't wait for this to get worse, an entire extremity is already a large area that likely should of been investigated already.

I am having episodes of numbness and tingling in my pinky and ring fingers and the side of my hand on Both hands. It's slowly becoming more common?

Ulnar neuropathy: In healthy young person nerve symptoms in pinky and ring finger are classic for compression/irritation of the ulnar nerve at the elbow. Think: lots of keyboard use or arms on the armrests reading. Solution: notice sources of pressure on your nerve at that elbow and reduce it for two weeks. IF the symptoms persist, go to a neurologist.

I have a dull aching pain in my lower back (left side) I have numbness and tingling in my left thigh down to my knee.?

I have a dull aching pain in my lower back (left side) I have numbness and tingling in my left thigh down to my knee.?

Unpinch the nerve.: Sounds like you have a disk herniation. As long as the pain is tolerable, and you do not have progressive increasing weakness, or lose the ability to control the bladder or bowels, the vast majority of disk herniations can be treated without surgery. I recommend you get a good exam by a spine specialist, then follow instructions on use of medications, stretchs and activities modifications.

Amitriptyline safe and effective for preventing hemiplegic migraines? I get slight numbness and tingling left side and headaches. Past 2yrs on and off

Amitriptyline safe and effective for preventing hemiplegic migraines? I get slight numbness and tingling left side and headaches. Past 2yrs on and off

Comments: Truthfully, due to bad anticholinergic side effects, I no longer use amitryptyline in any of my patients. Would prefer OTC items, such as riboflavin, butterbur, CoQ-10 magnesium or feverfew. Most neurologists can help with this. If it must be prescription, choose Depakote or Topamax (topiramate). Botox, maybe?
