See a physician: Shoulder pain can be caused by multiple different things: rotator cuff tendinitis or tear, arthritis, bursitis, referred pain from your neck, muscle pain in the shoulder girdle, cartilage defects, or even tumors or infections. If you have persistent symptoms, you should see a physician and begin the workup to determine the cause. Treatments will depend on the diagnosis/cause. Good luck! ...Read more
Referred Pain?: The same nerves that innervate the diaphragm go to the shoulder, as well. Therefore, anything that irritates the diaphragm, such as gallbladder or liver problems, can be "referred" to the shoulder. If the only symptom is shoulder pain (ie, no abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, etc), I would search elsewhere. Lung problems such as pneumonia, pleurisy can do the same, although less common. ...Read more

Referred pain: It is very common to have pain in the shoulder after injuries and problems in the abdomen. Shoulder pain: Unsure of pain loco. 2 pains or one? Difficulty breathing is a reason to be examined by a doc and x-ray. Point of shoulder could be tendinitis. Medial to this is breast and lung.
