Low back pain with right thigh numbness and right arm/hand/wrist pain/numbness. Sneezing causes extreme aching pain in both arms. Thoughts on causes?
Spine specialist W/U: It coulb be from disc disease in your neck or high in the back creating some nerve root irritation from the sudden negative intrathoracic pressure created by the sneeze. When not sneezing the disc may look normal, which makes it very difficult to diagnose. The same phenomenon can result from a build up of bone (osteophytes) near the central canal or the foramen where the nerves travel. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Pain in right arm between shoulder and elbow. Neck pain numbness and tingling down my arm. Now short of breath .
Pinched nerve: Sounds like you may have a pinched nerve in the neck. Often patients will develop numbness, tingling, and pain that radiates from the neck down the arm. Depending on the nerve that is pinched, it will affect different parts of the hand. Over time, weakness in the arm may develop as well. I would recommend getting it checked out. Stung by jellyfish on ribs several months ago. Since then i expeneriance numbness and tingling around sting area.. Normal?
Have IIH and bulging disc below where my ribs start. Started having numbness and tingling around knee or in heel whether sitting or standing.
Nerve testing: The level you are describing for you disc herniation would not be expected to cause the numbness in that area. I would expect something lower down in the spine. There are some nerves in the legs that can develop neuropathies. EMG/NCV testing may help with the diagnosis. A Physiatrist or Neurologist may help you get to the bottom of you diagnosis. ...Read more

What are the symptoms of having a herniated disk in the lower back?I have numbness and tingling in the lower back when sitting?
Many symptoms...: While this could be a sign of a herniated disc, it sounds a little more like facet arthritis as it does not radiate to different areas and does not have a constant dull ache. That being said, a physical exam and imaging would be necessary to be sure. If you are concerned about an actual herniation, then I would recommend seeing a physician for an exam to be safe. ...Read more

Is weird numbness and tingling on the left side of your left hand a symptom of impending heart attack?
Probably not: Arm pain that radiates (travels to) the hand and particularly the fingers is usually not heart related, but more likely to be a pinched nerve in the neck. The is referred to as as cervical neuropahy, if it comes from the spine, or brachial neuropathy, if it comes from lower down. I've seem this happen if someone leans heavily on crutches they have been using for a sprained knee. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
