Up back ache 1 yr on right side of spine. Deep inside shoulder blade. Ct 11/01/12 chest clear. Mri spine ok. Chest xray recent ok. Missed lung cancer?
Depends: Depends on your symptoms. If hilar adenopathy is suspected, a CT scan with contrast is indicated. If CHF is suspected, a BNP (blood sample) would be helpful. Regardless, an echocardiogram is indicated to evaluate cardiomegaly (an enlarged heart shadow). Other tests may also be necessary depending on the situation. ...Read more
Diagnosed with pneumonia. Chest X-ray shows inflammation lower left lobe. No fever, normal bp, just cough & rattling in chest. Really pneumonia?
Started with upper respiratory virus. Then chest x Ray revealed subtle opacification on left lobe. is this collapsed lung? No one seems concerned
Probably not.......: This is most likely the result of previous infection. Typically this thickening will look the same on the right and left with only some minor difference in thickness. If this is the case it is most likely nothing to worry about and just a follow-up chest xray to give you peace of mind. If there is a marked asymmetry or associated bone destruction this would need further evaluation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Please sure to talk to your doctor for the appropriate steps. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I am having back and chest pain, two xrays showed nodule on mid left lung, having CT wed. Could also have opacified sinus sphenoid? Pneumonia?
Pneumonia unlikely: If only back/chest pain symptoms, pneumonia unlikely--expect cough, phlegm, fever, malaise. Chest pain on deep breathing may indicate pleurisy, probably viral in origin. Opacified sinus probably related to nasal mucosal irritation from smoking. Agree with planned eval of nodule. Look for other causes of back and chest pain--new exercise? New position in work? ...Read more
