Possible, but: Having no pain or very little pain is a positive thing post surgery and can last for a long time, but other areas close to the initial site of surgery may be affected, or the nerves, muscles, ligaments, tendons or vertebrae in the area of surgery may have been strained by particular movement or event. I just started today feeling pain in my lower back (kidney area) that wraps around to the side and sometimes the front. It's constant what should I do?

Low back pain: The kidneys are a lot higher in the back than most would think. If you put your finger in the pit of your stomach and draw a line around back on both sides, that's the normal position of the kidneys. If your pain is in that area, then it could be your kidneys, if it is lower and very likely could be muscular. Either way if it persists or increases in frequency duration severity have it checked out. ...Read more

I've got pain in my lower back and its giving me the feeling of having a numb or dead foot wht could this be?

Pinched nerve: Likely a 'pinched nerve' in your back, most often at your age from a bulging disk. If a bit of recumbent rest (and avoiding lifting, bending, even sitting a long time) and over the counter anti-inflammatory pain medicines (ibuprofen, naproxyn) don't improve the situation, seeing a doctor for an MRI of the back and perhaps an EMG (electrical test) would define things better. ...Read more

Pressure feeling above public line and Lower back only started after had bm after being constipated. Could I still have more stuck

Maybe: You could still be constipated but the other possibility based on the location of the pressure, is a urinary tract infection. If you still feel constipated, take a bowel stimulant like Miralax (polyethylene glycol) or Magnesium citrate. Then if you still have that pressure and/or burning urination, see your doctor for a urine test. Constipation can lead to urine retention due to pressure on the bladder. ...Read more

Feeling lots of pain in his lower back. X-rays revealed a ruptured annulus fibrosis. What has occurred?

Feeling lots of pain in his lower back. X-rays revealed a ruptured annulus fibrosis. What has occurred?

Aging disc: As the disc ages the outer ring of the disk, or annulus, can dry out and crack/rupture. This can, in some cases, cause the inner part of the disk (nucleus) to push through the crack and produce what we call a disc herniation. Note that these changes can occur with or without symptoms. As such, the findings on MRI have to be closely correlated with your clinical exam to see if they are important. ...Read more
