Need more info ...: It would be impossible to say what is causing your 6 years of symptoms from just your short description. You need to see your doctor, and AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I would normally say you should rush to the emergency room, but, if you've had these for 6 years it could probably wait until Monday for you to schedule a regular appointment. Muscular strain: Constant dull pain after doing heavy lifting means that you strained a muscle. It can take a week or 10 days for the muscle to heal up, longer if you aren't fit at baseline. Try using a heating pad 20 min 3x/day on the sore area. Rest. Drink plenty of water. If you get leg weakness, numbness or trouble urinating, go see a doctor.
