Twice this week i've had stabbing hip joint pain which left me unable to walk for 20 minutes. Hurts to rotate leg inward. I am completely fine afterwards. Not overweight, no injury or back pain. Help?

Hard to say. : It is hard to say. Usually pain that suddenly comes and goes like that is known as colic and is usually not associated with the hip itself. You may want to be seen to rule out an abdominal or pelvic cause, as in a kidney stone for example. ...Read more

Sorry for your pain: Try lying flat on your back either on the floor or in bed. Bring your right knee up to about 90 degrees - like you are going to pull it to your chest but not so far. Slowly and gently, rotate your right knee towards the left. If it reproduces your pain, it could in fact be coming from the ball and socket hip joint. You really need to see your doc and get an xray of the right hip. ...Read more
