Yes: This could be a sign of a blood clot or a deep vein thrombosis. I would go to an emergency room and have a Doppler study it will detect a clot if present. I don't know your history but just because you are young does not mean you are not susceptible to a DVT. ...Read more

Difficult to tell,: but it sounds like a baker cyst. Is it on the back of your knee? You could have a Bakers cyst if it is back there, caused from either aberrant pocket in synovium or increased pressure in knee capsule with area of weakness that expands and swells. May want to have it looked at, easily drained if causing pain. If continues, may need surgical closure of the valve that keeps opening. Hope that helps! ...Read more

Edema : With a broken fibula you were most likely in a non-weight bearing cast for 6 weeks. The swelling in your ankle is the pooled blood and lymph from the fracture. See a physical therapist to regain mobility to your ankle and leg. Ultrasound, acupuncture and massage also help. When you are sitting, keep your legs elevated. Lower your salt intake.
